“Rachel Wiley-Janota’s ninth solo exhibition, “Golden Gulf Coast,” will open at Rene Wiley Gallery for ArtWalk on Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 6-9pm. Preview with the artist will be held the night before on Friday October 8, 2021 from 6-8pm. Wiley-Janota is known for her gulf coast landscapes, with her focus primarily on the salt marsh and clouded skies as she views from her kayak. For this group of work she has focused on the golden light and golden years of the gulf coasts of Texas, Louisiana and Florida from her recent travels, and she is using mixed medias of oils and acrylics, gold leaf and encaustic wax, often combined with found photography collage.”- Rene Wiley Gallery, September 2021
