FRESH CATCH: Gulf Coast Creatures by Rachel Wiley-Janota
Rachel Wiley-Janota: FRESH CATCH | Glasstire

“Rachel Wiley-Janota’s tenth solo exhibition, FRESH CATCH, will open at Rene Wiley Gallery for ArtWalk on Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 6-9pm. Preview with the artist will be held the night before on Friday, October 7, 2022 from 6-8pm. Wiley-Janota is known for her gulf coast landscapes, with her focus primarily on the salt marsh and clouded skies as she often views from her kayak. For this group of work she has focused on what she can catch a glimpse of in the Gulf of Mexico, fishing for fresh, local fare off the coasts of Texas, Louisiana and Florida. She is using a range of mixed medias in oils, gold leaf, beeswax, encaustic wax, watercolors and acrylics.”
