On the Horizon, 2020, Rachel Wiley-Janota, Solo Exhibition at Rene Wiley Gallery, October 2020
Rachel Wiley-Janota: On the Horizon | Glasstire

"Rachel Wiley-Janota’s eighth solo exhibition, “On the Horizon,” opens on October 10, 2020 at Rene Wiley Gallery. Wiley-Janota is known for her gulf coast landscapes with her focus primarily on the salt marsh and clouded skies. For this group of work she has focused on using a variety of historical mediums such as beeswax, gold leaf and walnut oil, which are combined to represent the light of golden hour that marks the horizon at the beginning and ending of each day. These highly textural works were both therapeutic for the artist to create, as well as intended to represent a hopeful longing as we wait for each new day during this very difficult year.”
